Session printers occasionally don't appear in ICA session

Environment is .print 7.6 running on a print server.  Citrix servers are running XenApp 4.5 R02 on 32-bit hardware.

Printers will appear by logging off and logging back on.

The following errors were logged on the print server:

    Event Type:        Error
    Event Source:    ThinPrint
    Event Category:                None
    Event ID:              1

    Computer:          PRINTSERVER

    Any ideas?

Did you ever find a solution to this?

    Thanks

Re: Session printers occasionally don't appear in ICA session

    Hi Tim,

the mentioned error messages from the print server have nothing to do with the printers no appearing in the session.

    Some things to check:
    • if you turn off "Enable sending properties" in the .print Client configuration -  are the printers created more reliable in the sessions?
yes -> what kind of printers are used locally? Shared ones? It may take too much time to get all printer properties the first time the user starts a session.
    • do you have something like AppSense running on the server?
It may be possible the printers are created but have wrong security settings  --  please check as Administrator in Printers&Faxes
    • Is the logon process slow in general? Please increase two timeouts for AutoConnect as described in http://forum.thinprint.com/cs/forums/p/295/672.aspx
